After Applying Patch 31347807 and Patch 29659838 The Advance Viewer Is Not Working (Doc ID 2709789.1)

Symptoms

After applying the latest patches for WebCenter Imaging 11.1.1.9, launching of Advance Viewer in any browser is not working.  The Image does not render and all the annotation buttons are not available.  There are no errors in the client or diagnostic log file.

Only users with Java JRE 1.8.0_261 installed had the issue.  Users with other JRE version did not have the issue.

The Java console output during Advance Viewer launch shows the following:

WARNING: the jnlp file is invalid and will be blocked in a future release.

Patches installed:
Patch 31347807 - CUMULATIVE IPM/AXF PATCH 11.1.1.9.0 NUMBER 17 DATE 2020-05-14
Patch 29659838: CUMULATIVE IPMREPOSITORY PATCH 11.1.1.9.0 NUMBER 3 DATE 2019-04-17

Beginning in January 2019, Imaging 11.1.1.9 is under Extended Support. It is recommended that you upgrade to 12c.

The Error Correction Policy is within Document 209768.1.  Within this document is "Click here to view the Fusion Middleware Policy".  Clicking this link will take you to the FMW Error Correction Policy document. See "7.2 Policies – Critical Patch Update Program". This states:


"Patches released as part of the CPU program (e.g. PSUs, SPUs, bundle patches, or point-in-time snapshot patches) follow the same rules for patching support as other patches do. They are created for the current releases or patch set releases and the previous versions (if any) for the duration of the grace period.

Only customers who have contracted for Extended Support are entitled to download and use proactive patches created for a product in Extended Support."
