Purpose
Oracle Exalogic is an integrated hardware and software system designed to provide a complete platform for a wide range of application types and widely varied workloads. It combines optimized Oracle Fusion Middleware software like WebLogic server, JRockit, Coherence with industry-standard Sun Server and Storage hardware and InfiniBand networking. The purpose of this document is to provide specific information around October 2020 Patch Set Update (PSU) for that system.
IMPORTANT
THE OCTOBER 2020 PSU IS ONLY FOR THE EXALOGIC VIRTUAL RACK RUNNING ON VERSION 2.0.6.2.x/ 2.0.6.3.x & THIS PSU IS NOT APPLICABLE TO EXALOGIC VIRTUAL RACK RUNNING ON VERSION 2.0.6.4.x
Moving forward, PSU releases will alternating between 2.0.6.4.x and 2.0.6.2.x/2.0.6.3.x code lines.
As part of the October 2020 PSU for Linux-Virtual, the upgrade of the Exalogic Control virtual machines from Oracle Linux 5 (OL5) to Oracle Linux 6 (OL6) as well as Oracle Virtual Machine Manager (OVMM) upgrades have been included via patches 31518183 and 31985688.
The patch includes upgrades for the three Exalogic Control virtual machines from OL5 to OL6, upgrades for OVMM from version 3.2.11 to 3.4.5, OVMM Database from Oracle Database to MySQL, and Exalogic Control Ops Center (EMOC) Database from Oracle 11g to Oracle 12c. The patches will need to be downloaded along with the PSU patch 31731093, and installed after successfully applying the October 2020 Linux Virtual PSU. More information below:
