Groovy Sum Is Not Functional With Large Data In 12C Because Of Slowness Which Is Not The Case In 11g

Applies to:
Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
This is a performance issue specific to 12.2.1.3 where Groovy sum is not functional with large data in ADF because of slowness which is not the case in 11.1.2.4.
While using Groovy sum in 11.1.2.4 to show the sum in the footer, it was observed that it was faster than in 12.2.1.3. After moving to 12.2.1.3 following the same approach as in 11g,
it was observed that it is noticeably slow with large data ( 100000's rows ) which makes the application non functional; it is faster for the same set of row in 11.1.2.4.
The issue can be observed by running a jspx web page and then opening Chrome's More Tools --> Developer Tools--> CTRL + R to see the timing.
