Invalid Duplicate Class Definition Of Class In JDeveloper When Building A Deployment Profile (Doc ID 2719663.1)

Last updated on MARCH 10, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After adding some criteria to one of the accessors in one of the business component views, a .bcs file gets generated to hold this information.

There is no option to not generate the script file in this instance.

The first time the file was created,  the project could be deployed to an EAR file and it worked fine. However, every time after that, the following error is generated:

To make it work, one needs to go to <APPLICATION_NAME>\<APPLICATION_MODULE>\classes\model\ and delete the .bcs file. Then after that, it is possible to build and deploy the EAR file again. Having to delete these .bcs files in the classes directory every time one wants to build a new deployment ear file is not really convenient.
