Symptoms

A custom JSF based application fails to deploy in WebLogic 12.2.1.4.0. The same application was working fine in WebLogic 12.1.3.0

Changes

There are substantial changes between WebLogic 12.1.3 and 12.2.x in terms of Java EE version and web container. A custom Web Application may require repackaging and update libraries such as JSF in order to deploy and run successfully in WebLogic version 12.2.x.
