Last updated on JULY 12, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle SQLcl - Version 20.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The command SET HISTORY to BlockLIST <option> does not work any more in SQLcl 20.3 and onward, resulting in the "Usage Details" instead of the successful execution of the command..  It was working fine until SQLcl 20.2.

For Example:

When you try to use key word which is for showing "BLOCKED LISTING" from 20.3 onward, it will return "Usage Details" of the command, as follows:

SQL> set history blocklist show,history,connect,conn,set,bridge
SET HISTORY
---------

set history [FAILS [LIMIT [ n | DEFAULT ] ] | NOFAILS
|FILTER [DEFAULT <command list>?|<command list>? | NONE]
|LIMIT [n|DEFAULT]]

FAILS sets history command to show failed statements.
use limit to limit number of failures
NOFAILS sets history command to not show failed statements
FILTER sets a list of sqlcl commands that can be excluded from the history
LIMIT sets a new max size for the history
