12c: How to Recreate the Default Wallet that has Expired from Oracle HTTP Server (Doc ID 2729766.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 27, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 12.1.3.0.0 to 12.2.1.4.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle provides a default wallet and self-signed certificate Out-Of-The-Box that is used to test the functionality of SSL.
These Self-Signed Certificates will expire after some time and can prevent OHS from starting. This document is provided
to provide a simple method to recreate this wallet.

NOTE: This document describes the process by which one can recreate the wallet when managed at the file sytem level, by command line.
This can be done in a StandAlone OHS Configuration or in a Collocated OHS Configuration. However in a Collocated configuration the default,
recommended store is KSS and the management is done via FMWC Console or WLST. It is recommended to use those in a Collocated OHS
Configuraton, and use orapki in a StandAlone OHS Configuration, although it can also be used if desired to manage the wallet from the file system.
