Date Returned by Date Picker Adds One Hour (Doc ID 2729785.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 20, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

System displays different date formats when the entered value is extracted in Java using "valueChangeEvent.getNewValue().toString();"

In an inputDate component, if the value "29/09/2020" is entered, the Java code returns "2020-09-29" whereas if the input is "01/09/1942", the Java code returns "1942-09-01 01:00:00.0"
For all subsequent date values entered, the returned value will include the time suffix as "01:00:00.0."

For this to happen, the local timezone has to be set to IST.
When testing using the EST timezone, the issue was NOT reproduced.
