Viewing Pages in WebCenter Portal Using Safari on iPad with iOS 13 or Later Displays a Blank Page or Internal Error (Doc ID 2731581.1)

Symptoms

Viewing Pages in WebCenter Portal using Safari on iPad with iOS 13 or later displays a blank page or Internal Error.
Accessing WebCenter Portal from Chrome on iPad with iOS 13 or later works as expected.

 

ERROR

Internal Error (WCS#YYYY.MM.DD.HH.MI.SS)

 

The portal diagnostic log shows the following error:

[<DATE-TIME>] [WC_Portal] [ERROR] [ADFC-50018] [oracle.adfinternal.controller.application.AdfcExceptionHandler] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '33' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: anonymous] [ecid: <ECID>] [APP: webcenter] [partition-name: DOMAIN] [tenant-name: GLOBAL] [DSID: <DSID>] ADFc: No exception handler was found for an application exception.[[
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.partition.PartitionContext$AgentName enum constant for value "netscape".
       at org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.util.Enums.stringToEnum(Enums.java:106)
       at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.partition.PartitionContext._stringToEnum(PartitionContext.java:605)
       at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.partition.PartitionContext.access$000(PartitionContext.java:27)




STEPS

  1. Access WebCenter using Safari iPad with iOS 13 or later.
    This will display a blank page or Internal Error.

  2. Type the following on the Safari URL on the iPad:

    what is my user agent

    You will see something similar to this in the results (note it shows the user agent as Macintosh):

    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_4) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.1.2 Safari/605.1.15


  3. Type the following on Chrome URL on the iPad:

    what is my user agent

    You will see something similar to this in the results (Note it shows the user agent as iPad as expected):

    Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 13_7 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) CriOS/86.04240.93 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1
