Pending JMS Messages Accumulating in "send transaction" State (Doc ID 2733356.1)

Symptoms

Custom application acts as JMS producer sending messages to a configured JMS queue on Weblogic Server. When monitoring the JMS queue via /console it is noticed that there are pending messages and the number of the messages keeps climbing. The pending messages are all in "send transaction" state suggesting issue with transactional resources participating in the global transaction.
