Symptoms

An application using the Hikari connection pool with Oracle JDBC driver 18.7 fails to connect to the database with the following error:

HikariPool-1 - Connection oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CConnection@4de71f63 marked as broken because of SQLSTATE(08000), ErrorCode(17410)
java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: No more data to read from socket
