Last updated on SEPTEMBER 26, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.190515 to 12.2.1.4.220702 [Release 12c]
Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 1.0.2 to 12.2.1.4.220702
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) load plan, an Exception step contains the API function odiRef.getParentLoadPlanStepInstance("STEP_NAME"). The function always returns the string "Exception" instead of the actual name of the step.

For example, if the step is named "Unexpected Value Detected" it is expected that the returned string would be "Unexpected Value Detected". However, the returned string is "Exception" instead.
