Purpose
This document provides a detailed step-by-step procedure to perform an upgrade on Exalogic Virtual racks running Oct 2020 PSU or higher to 2.0.6.4.0. This upgrade involves the following high-level steps:
Run pre-requisite checks before starting upgrade
Prepare to upgrade
Stage the Upgrade Kit bundle on cn01
Run Upgrade steps
Run Post-upgrade steps
Note: The upgrade involves reimaging of compute nodes to 2.0.6.4.0 and an upgrade of UEK2 kernel to UEK4 on all OL6-based vServers (including Control vServer and Guest vServers). This procedure does not modify the firmware/software on NM2 switches or ZFS storage appliance from pre-upgrade level.
Scope
The upgrade procedure in this MOS Note only applies to Exalogic Virtual racks running October 2020 PSU (2.0.6.3.201020) or higher 2.0.6.3.x PSU.
