Symptoms

Unchecking the "visibility" of pages in WebCenter Portal makes page inaccessible via direct URL.

Accessing the pages using direct URL results in the following error:

ERROR

Page Not Found...
The page you requested is not found.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to a Portal.

  2. Create a page.
    For example:

    Page Name: Test Page

  3. Edit the page and add an HTML component with some text like:

    "This is the Test Page."

  4. Get the Page Information.

  5. Note down the Direct URL from the Summary Tab.
The URL should look like this:

    http://host:port/webcenter/portal/<portal-name>/pages_testpage

  6. Access the page using the direct URL you got in previous step.
    For this example:

    http://host:port/webcenter/portal/<portal-name>/pages_testpage

You will see the page is displayed without issues.

  7. Edit the page and uncheck the "Visibility" check box in the Summary Tab in the Page Information.

  8. Access the page again using the direct URL.
    For this example:

    http://host:port/webcenter/portal/<portal-name>/pages_testpage

Here you will get the following error:

    Page Not Found...
The page you requested is not found.
