When using the IBM WebSphere Application Server together with Oracle databases, there is the known problem that some datasets are (non-deterministically) not persisted in the Oracle database, although no Exception is thrown. Therefore, data could become inconsistent without notification about this corruption. To solve this problem, the configuration option "transactionBranchesLooselyCoupled" was introduced and could be set for datasources using Oracle databases within the IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Must this (or a similar) option also be set to guarantee that no loss of data occurs when using the JBoss Application Server, instead of Websphere, together with Oracle databases?
