How to configure OIM-OAM with SIMPLE mode communication (Doc ID 2759201.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2021

Applies to:

Identity Manager - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In a 12c IAM environment where OIM and OAM components are integrated using the LDAP connector, when a user gets created or modified in OIM there are a set of custom event handlers that get executed based on certain conditions.
All of the custom event handlers use UserManager API to modify the attributes. The event handlers get executed successfully and the attributes get updated as expected. However OIM logs show the following errors for each of these event handlers.

oracle.security.am.common.exceptions.NAPException: Exception in sending syncInfo request.

...

java.lang.Exception: Failed to communicate with any of configured Access Server, ensure that it is up and running.
  at oracle.security.am.common.aaaclient.ObAAAServiceClient.sendMessage(ObAAAServiceClient.java:2762)
  at oracle.security.am.common.aaaclient.ObAAAServiceClient.sendMessage(ObAAAServiceClient.java:2783)

The logs also show that OIM retries to send this notification multiple times before it times out eventually. This causes a delay in the user processing adding overall performance issues.
