"Generation Type" in ODI Custom KM Cannot Be Reset to Default Once Set (Doc ID 2759323.1)

Symptoms

Using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4, by default, the "Generation Type" of a new Knowledge Module (KM) is empty.


After setting a value, saving the KM and closing it, there is no way to select the empty default value again to revert the changes in later updates.

To reproduce:

  1. Using ODI Studio, Designer, create a new KM
  2. Go to the "Generation Type" field and select a value
  3. Save
  4. Exit the KM
  5. Open the KM

    => the "empty" default is no longer available and cannot be selected for "Generation Type"
