Symptoms

SO_TIMEOUT exceptions for WebLogic Data Source connections after Oracle Database is upgraded from 12c to 19c version.

The below error is seen in the server log:

 

Changes

Tried applying the recommendation of setting JAVA_OPTION "-Doracle.jdbc.javaNetNio=false" as provided in the below document. This has fixed this issue but created a side effect (IO Error: Socket connect timed out) on another datasource. So we had to rollback the applied change i.e. "-Doracle.jdbc.javaNetNio=false". Post rollback "IO Error: Socket connect timed out" stopped.
