Symptoms

When attempting to test a connection to a REST Service Data Server the following error occurs if an 8-Bit ASCII character is used in the password.

For example, a password like: Welcome£




STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Rest Service Data Server in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio
2. Enter Credentials with a password such as Welcome£
3. Test Connection
4. The same REST Service URL works outside of ODI using curl and a Web Browser
