"Exception Reading URL" for System Events After Cluster Setup (Doc ID 2811010.1)

Symptoms

After setting up a clustered environment, we are seeing the following error every 10-15 minutes:

[ERROR] [] [oracle.wcsites] [tid: <tid>] [userId: ] [ecid: <ecid>] [APP: sites] [partition-name: DOMAIN] [tenant-name: GLOBAL] Exception reading url from http://[hostname]:[port]/sites/ContentServer?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Search/Event[[
com.fatwire.cs.core.http.HttpAccessException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out (Connection timed out)

As well as this error every 30 seconds :
