Purpose

Oracle Exalogic is an integrated hardware and software system designed to provide a complete platform for a wide range of application types and widely varied workloads. It combines optimized Oracle Fusion Middleware software like WebLogic server, JRockit, Coherence with industry-standard Sun Server and Storage hardware and InfiniBand networking. The purpose of this document is to provide specific information around October 2021 Patch Set Update (PSU) for that system.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

1) October 2020 PSU is a pre-requisite for applying October 2021 PSU.

Following are October 2021 PSU upgrade paths:

  • 2.0.6.2.x → 2.0.6.3.201020 → 2.0.6.4.211019
  • 2.0.6.2.x → 2.0.6.3.201020 → 2.0.6.3.210420 → 2.0.6.4.211019
  • 2.0.6.3.x → 2.0.6.3.201020 → 2.0.6.4.211019
  • 2.0.6.3.x → 2.0.6.3.201020 → 2.0.6.3.210420 → 2.0.6.4.211019

 

2) As part of October 2021 PSU kernel version on the Linux Physical compute nodes will be upgraded from UEK2 to UEK4.  Also Exalogic image version on Linux Physical Compute nodes changes from 2.0.6.3.x to 2.0.6.4.x as part of October 2021 PSU upgrade.

 

IMPORTANT

THE OCTOBER 2021 PSU IS ONLY FOR THE EXALOGIC PHYSICAL RACK RUNNING ON VERSION 2.0.6.2.x/ 2.0.6.3.x & THIS PSU IS NOT APPLICABLE TO EXALOGIC PHYSICAL RACK RUNNING ON VERSION 2.0.6.4.x
