Symptoms

Intermittent loss of JDBC/thin connectivity from Weblogic.

The database alert.log shows:

TNS-12537: TNS:connection closed
TNS-00507: Connection closed

The JDBC application logs show:

ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
