BPEL SOAPException "PKIX path building failed" after 120 sec

In a BPEL when we call a service, if the service takes more than 2 minutes (120 sec) to respond, the following exception is generated:

<bpelFault><faultType>0</faultType><remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>oracle.fabric.common.FabricInvocationException: Unable to invoke endpoint URI "http://ohsserver:80/pae/xxx/IntegracionProxyService" successfully due to: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

If the service responds in less than 2 minutes, the exception is not thrown and the BPEL terminates successfully.

What can be causing this error when the response of the service takes more than 2 minutes (120 sec)?
How can we control that the BPEL waits longer for the response to that service before throwing an exception?
