After Upgrade of APEX 20.2 The Function Type Is Not Working In SHORTCUTS (Doc ID 2831988.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 12, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Application Express (APEX) - Version 20.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the application if you are using shortcuts in item labels in Apex 20.2 and when the item has a validation error then it is displaying as

ORA-01403 error instead of the item label.

for example:

shortcut error ORA-01403: no data found does not match number format 9999

(Example: 1251).

Instead of this it should display error like below

SHORTCUT_TEST does not match number format 9999 (Example: 1251).

And even when it is defined the " shortcut type" as Function Body returning VARCHAR2.

Changes

Using shortcuts in item labels, And the item has a validation error.
