According to the instructions in 
Oracle® Fusion Middleware Installing Oracle JDeveloper 12c (12.2.1.4.0)
Starting the Uninstaller

to uninstall JDeveloper the following command should be used:


However, after doing the above, the following error is encountered:

install: unknown option -- e
Try 'install --help' for more information.
