ODI Objects Are Locked by Users with View Only Privileges (Doc ID 2832993.1)

Symptoms

Some Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c users may only have a read-only type profile, and as such are only able to view objects and not modify them.

However, ODI objects such as mappings are locked for editing if a user with view-only privilege opens such object.


To reproduce:

  1. Assign a view-only profile to a user
  2. Login as the user and open an ODI object
  3. Login as a user with update privileges, and notice the "lock" on the object
