Redeploying Spring Application in WLS 12.2.1.4 Goes Into FAILED State With "DataSource <datasource_name> is not active" (Doc ID 2847661.1)

Symptoms

When redeploying a Spring application on WebLogic Server 12.2.1.4 - deployment goes to FAILED status.

This happens when an application (WAR or EAR) which is already present as Deployment on WebLogic Domain is updated or redeployed.

When the application goes into FAILED state, below error is seen in the server logs:

 

Stack trace show JDBC DataSource from errors; but when DataSource <datasource_name> is Tested from WebLogic Admin Console, the connection to database is successful.

WebLogic Server instance restart will bring the application to Active state.
