Elasticsearch Configuration Fails Due to Error: Path does not chain with any of the trust anchors (Doc ID 2852016.1)

Symptoms

WebCenter Content is configured for Elasticsearch.

Elasticsearch is configured on a system other than the system the WCC domain is installed on.

In the Administration --> ElasticSearch Configuration page, after setting the parameter values and the clicking the Update button, the connection to ES fails.

The trace log shows an exception like this:
