Requests Fail due to Authentication failure or Forbidden errors (Doc ID 2852169.1)

Last updated on MARCH 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In FA environment, the product application gets below errors when submitting requests to UCM at /cs/idcplg.

Tried the solution in below KM Note, but get below errors when submitting request to /_dav/cs/idcplg to bypass SSO.  No longer getting the "OAM authentication failed", but still getting Forbidden and also getting connection timeout.

Please see below details from one case.

ODI ETL job (running in external environment outside of FA) was running a search and trying to download all the files in the search results. The ETL job ran the search successfully and was downloading the files initially, but then the ETL job failed due to above errors while trying to download all the files.  Reviewed the CS trace files and verified the search was successful and saw several GET_FILE requests submitted by the ETL user, but then didn't see the GET_FILE requests for the files that failed in ODI log.  The requests never reached UCM.

Below is an example from ODI log.  There were no entries in UCM trace files or server logs for the below file or any errors during the same time period.  Only errors reported was from product application (e.g., ODI).  The request never reached UCM.

Therefore, the issue only occurs when there's a moderate to high load originating from one host. No issues are seen under light load from the same host.
