Deleting Imaging Content Using UCM IdcCommand Does Not Delete the Documents Immediately (Doc ID 2856936.1)

Symptoms

When testing the UCM IdcCommand to delete Imaging documents from Content Server, after it completes successfully, it does not delete the Documents immediately.  The same documents can be found when searching in Imaging for a few minutes after the command completes.

When attempting to view the document, it fails with error: "The requested document IPM_XXXXX was not found"

After a few minutes the documents are no longer seen when running the Imaging search.  Why is this not immediate?
