Goal

Different countries and regions use very different date-time format patterns. This makes the analysis of WebLogic Server (WLS) log files confusing and it prevents the automated analysis of log files. The objective of this document is to provide a timestamp configuration that is independent of country, region, language, or locale.

The following examples illustrate the different formats that others have used in WLS log files:

Automation tools can recognize several of these patterns, but it is not possible to recognize every pattern that can be conceived.
