Exalogic Virtual: Incorrect NTP Configuration on Compute Nodes post upgrade using 2.0.6.4.0 Upgrade Kit (Doc ID 2863596.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.4.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks upgraded from 2.0.6.3.X to 2.0.6.4.0 using the Exalogic 2.0.6.4.0 Upgrade Kit, it was noticed that the NTP configuration was incorrect and pointing to the Control VM (EC) on all compute nodes (DOM0s).

The NTP configuration on the compute nodes should instead point to an external NTP server, typically one or more corporate NTP servers.

Changes

The issue described in this MOS note has been observed on Exalogic 2.0.6.4.x compute nodes which were upgraded from 2.0.6.3.x to 2.0.6.4.0 using the Exalogic 2.0.6.4.0 Upgrade Kit.
