Symptoms

When implementing a password policy that includes a password validator

1. When the user updates a password and includes a special character not listed in the character-set the validator rules for example "!" the output includes a trailing "s"


ldap_add: Server is unwilling to perform (53)
  additional info: !s


Note: This issue is also  present when ldappasswordmodify is used as well
