Application On Boarding (AOB) Application creation fails: "Application Creation Failed Internal Server Error" (Doc ID 2883184.1)

Symptoms

AOB Application creation is failing in Oracle Identity Manager (OIM).

 

OIM logs prints the below error:

<Error><oracle.iam.identityrest.applicationrest.impl> <BEA-000000> <null java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.iam.application.impl.ApplicationManagerImpl.updateCatalogAttributes(ApplicationManagerImpl.java:817)
at oracle.iam.application.impl.ApplicationManagerImpl.create(ApplicationManagerImpl.java:1164)
at oracle.iam.application.impl.ApplicationManagerImpl.create(ApplicationManagerImpl.java:1004

The Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) report shows that the sql statement is being blocked from executing for the AOB instance.
