WEBSTART: How to expire dynamically created jnlp file (Doc ID 2885174.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 07, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Oracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Up until 12.2.1.4 Forms version, when running Forms via webstart, a dynamically created jnlp file was downloaded to the client, where the user runs it to launch Forms. This file did not expire, which means that it could be left on the client and ran at a later date, which could be problematic, as the settings on the server may change in the meantime, which would not be reflected in the existing jnlp file. So the question is, how to make sure that the jnlp file can only be usable for a limited amount of time?
