Symptoms

An application has a number of declarative components, which are used across the application.
After upgrading the application from 11g to 12c, the following exception is seen:
 
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Target Unreachable, identifier '<NAME>' resolved to null
at org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.webapp.TrinidadFilterImpl._doFilterImpl(TrinidadFilterImpl.java:398)
at org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.webapp.TrinidadFilterImpl.doFilter(TrinidadFilterImpl.java:241)

NOTE:  This error does not occur in the 11g version of the application.
