Minimum Version Requirements for Containerized Service

The tables below outlines the minimum requirements to use Oracle Identity and Access Management 12.2.1.4.x. For each release the Docker & CRI-O version must be compatible with the Kubernetes version that is installed

Container Image Download/Patch Details

The tables below outline the patch history for the Oracle Access Manager 12.2.1.4.x. In all cases the patch listed is a container image that can be used for a new installation, or can be installed as a patch (which includes bug fixes and enhancements) on top of existing installs. Oracle recommends downloading and applying the latest release, which us cumulative to those before it. The previous images will remain listed in the document for a historical record. If you prefer to build your own Oracle Access Manager 12.2.1.4.x container image, refer to the documentation listed earlier in this note.

Oracle Container Registry for Middleware Products

Starting Dec. 20, 2021 Oracle started releasing WebLogic Server and Fusion Middleware Infrastructure (FMW Infrastructure) images in the Oracle Container Registry (OCR) with the latest Patch Set Update (PSU), Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), and security patches applied.

The images listed at the top of the Middleware repositories page for the 40+ repositories contain the base image release. The CPU repository for the IDM images, which contains images that include security fixes and any bundle patch release, can be found at the bottom of the Middleware repositories page in the "CPU Repository" section.

Starting in Oct 2022 Oracle no longer upload container releases to MOS as a downloadable patch. From Oct. 2022 onwards all container releases will only be made available from the Oracle Container Registry (OCR).

Oracle Access Manager July 2023 Release

This patch contains the Oracle Access Manager container image with the July 2023 Patch Set Updates (PSUs) and other fixes released with the Critical Patch Update (CPU) program.

Notes:

If you are using Kubernetes release 1.25+, then you must also install/use WebLogic Operator 4.0.4+.
If you are using Kubernetes releases earlier than the 1.25 release, then you can use either Weblogic Operator version 3.4.2+ or 4.0.4+.
The April 2023 the fmw-kubernetes installation scripts provided on GitHub utilize the WebLogic Operator version 4.0.4 and will not work with the 3.4.2 WebLogic Operator.
If you desire to use the fmw-kubernetes installation scripts that were released before April 2023 then you must use WebLogic Operator version 3.4.2 and installation scripts v23.1.1 from the GitHub releases page.
If you are upgrading your existing IDM container image from one release to another (for example, Jan 2023 to Apr 2023) you can continue to use the release of the WebLogic Operator that is currently installed. There is no need to upgrade the WebLogic Operator version. However, it is recommended to upgrade the WebLogic Operator to ensure that your system continues to work on the latest releases of Kubernetes.
When upgrading the WLS operator from 3.x to 4.0.4 you must also ensure that a supported Kubernetes version has also been installed.
