OUD 11g/12c : EUS Migration from OID to OUD - JDBC Clients Using O3Logon Get Error "ORA-28274" During Authentication (Doc ID 2895308.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After migration from OID to OUD, some of the EUS global accounts are experiencing: "ORA-28274: No ORACLE password attribute corresponding to user nickname exists".
This happens only for the ones using ojdbc with "03" authentication  (thinLogonCapability=o3) . Clients using JDBC with "o5" (thinLogonCapability=o5) are working fine.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Old DB (JDBC) clients using O3Logon authentication (when "o3" is configured in jdbc connections - thinLogonCapability=o3 ) try to authenticate using EUS.
2. Get errors

Changes

Migrate EUS configuration from OID 11g to OUD 12c
