Users Cannot Share Synced Files In OneDrive or Sharepoint When ESSO Logon Manager Is Running (Doc ID 2899015.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 28, 2022

Applies to:

Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

Symptoms

Users are unable to share synced files or folders from OneDrive or SharePoint in File Explorer (sharing from the web works fine). After investigating, it looks to be a result of some issue/bug/incompatibility with ESSO Logon Manager.

Issue: if you try to share a file using the OneDrive client from Window’s File Explorer (right-click on file/folder > click Share) you'll notice it doesn't work. No error or anything, just when you click the share options nothing happens.

Resolution: Uninstall ESSO.
