Goal
The ESSO Web Extension Is Not Getting Installed Automatically in the Microsoft Edge web browser.
A corporate policy has been implemented that prevents the installation of extensions in the Chrome browser and blocks users from accessing extensions published in the Google Chrome store.
The users are allowed to use extensions in Microsoft EDGE browser and are currently not blocked from downloading extensions from MS EDGE Add-Ons site.
Doc ID 2700622.1 regarding "The New Web Extension For Edge Chromium In Oracle ESSO LM 11.1.2.3.2 Is Not Getting Installed In the Browser" has instructions on how to manually install the installation but this is not feasible for large organizations with thousands of users and computers.
The registry key for EDGE support, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Edge\Extensions\aefigplbgdpocecepochhmafghemaplo, references a URL for the Chrome store to automatically download the ESSO web extension.
Is it possible to make the ESSO web extension available for download from the Microsoft EDGE Add-ons site so the extension can be automatically installed in the Microsoft Edge web browser?
