Purpose

For the most recent "Steps to Apply" ODI BP/CPU article, see the comment in the table on the "Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4" section of:
Document 2806740.2 Critical Patch Update (CPU) Patch Advisor for Oracle Fusion Middleware

This article will provide the steps to install all the October 2022 CPU patches for an ODI environment.

Installing the recommended CPU patches can be challenging especially in the cases where previous Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Bundle Patches have been applied.

There is a conflict seen when applying the October CPU Patches (like FMW Thirdparty Bundle Patch (BP) 12.2.1.4.220915) on top of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Bundle Patches starting with the January 2021 BP and later.

For Example:
FMW Thirdparty Bundle Patch 12.2.1.4.220915 Patch 34604561 to the July 2022 12.2.1.4 ODI Bundle Patch 34345040 the following error is seen:

 

The ODI Bundle Patch includes different versions of the same third-party jar files which causes the conflict.
