Document Images Do Not Appear in Unified Viewer After Upgrade and Then Domain Restart (Doc ID 2925605.1)

Symptoms

The Unified Viewer opens, but the image pane shows a blank image.

UCM diagnostic logs show the following 2 stack traces:

intradoc.common.ServiceException:
at intradoc.server.ServiceManager.onError(ServiceManager.java:792)

Caused by: java.awt.AWTError: Can't connect to X11 window server using 'localhost:11.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

Caused by: intradoc.common.ServiceException: !syFileUtilsFileInvalidPath,IPM_6436051-page1.png

The IPM diagnostic logs show the following stack trace:

[IPM_server2] [WARNING] [ADFC-50023] ADFc: Attempt to release viewport '6q9ygzymz_28' threw an exception.[[
oracle.adf.controller.ControllerException: ADFC-12014: Attempted access to an object that has already been released, object type: 'oracle.adfinternal.controller.state.RootViewPortContextImpl'.

Changes

Upgraded to 12.2.1.4 and everything worked as expected. Then restarted the system during routine maintenance window.
