Exalogic Virtual 2.0.6.4.X: OL6 and OL7 Guest vServers Unable To Communicate To Exadata DB Nodes Over Infiniband (Doc ID 2933013.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks 2.0.6.4.x, issue of OL6 and OL7 Guest vServers not able to communicate to Exadata DB nodes over infiniband network is seen. The communication betweeen Exalogic Guest vServers and Exadata over IB was working before and all of a sudden stopped working. But the communication between the Exalogic Guest vServers over private vNet and communication to Dom0 compute nodes and Control vservers works without any issues.

Changes

Issue described in this MOS note surfaces due to one of the following scenarios.

• Exalogic Guest vServers were restarted, and they started on a different compute node than the original compute node where they were running.
• Exadata DB nodes were upgraded to latest kernel.
• Exadata DB nodes were rebooted.
