Symptoms

Whenever installing or patching an Oracle Internet Directory (OID) environment, relinking the OID binaries is a commonly performed activity, usually performed by the installer or Opatch.

Relinking can sometimes fail with an error such as:

There are several possible changes that can trigger this, such as file level permissions changes to remove access to the target file, or Updating the JDK in the $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common.
