Oracle Access Manager (OAM) SSO Session Issue When Going From One Protected Resource To Another After Session Idle Timeout Is Reached - Error In Log "Unable to create and persist user session ..." (Doc ID 2938390.1)

Symptoms

Authentication flow fails after session idle timeout is reached, "System Error"

Steps To Reproduce The Issue

Back Ground
  • <APPLICATION_1> Mapped to <IDSTORE_1>
  • <APPLICATION_2> Mapped to <IDSTORE_2>
  • Both <IDSTORE_1> and <IDSTORE_2> have the same <USER_NAME> and <PASSWORD> values
1. Open a new browser session and call <APPLICATION_1>
2. Enter <USER_NAME> and <PASSWORD>, when prompted ... success application is displayed

3. Open a new tab in the same browser session as above, and access <APPLICATION_2>. The application is displayed without challenging for Username/Password (as expected)

4. Wait for 5 minuets, which is the value for session ideal timeout

5. Refresh Tab2, from step 3
6. A login page is displayed
7. Enter the same <USER_NAME> and <PASSWORD>, as in step X. (note this time is is using <IDSTORE_2>)
8. Login fails with "System Error"

9. Log file shows " Unable to create and persist user session"

10. However, in the same browser session access <APPLICATION_1> again, login page will be displayed and login succeeds
