java.lang.StackOverflowError when Using Smart Export in ODI 12c (Doc ID 2941928.1)

Symptoms

Using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio version 12.2.1.4.x,  when attempting to Smart Export a complex mapping which has been upgraded from 11g and has nested reusable mappings (RUEs) and many datasets, the export in 12c fails with java.lang.StackOverflowError.

There was no issue with exporting the interface in 11g prior to upgrade.
Also, ODI patch 34869387 was applied to resolve a previous issue related to smart export with the same mapping.
