Symptoms

Installing and configuring Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 12c on Red Hat Enterprise 7 works fine.

However OID 12c oid_setup fails on Linux 8 / Red Hat Enterprise 8 (RH8) with:

This ORA error can be related to the type of Database (DB) however the OID DB in this case is local / on premise and on the same server, not using Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing-Shared (ATP-S), not Pluggable DB (PDB).
