Human Tasks have a feature called auto claim that allow automatically claiming the task:

The way this feature works is that once the user approves the task it will automatically be claimed on approval.  It doesn't claim the task as the user clicks on it which is sometimes a preferred method.

There may be a need to automatically claim a task when a user clicks on it, such as to prevent other users from acting on them.  The goal of this article is to provide a sample that shows one way it could be done.
