Goal

There will come a time when it may become necessary to change the way the the WebGate communicates with the Oracle Access Manager (OAM) Server. The intent of this KM note is to provide at a high-level the steps needed to complete this task ... "How to Change from a communication mode (OPEN/SIMPLE) to CERT Mode Communication".

This is a living document that will updated to add or remove information as it becomes available or no longer relevant.

Alert:

In March 2024, the Oracle Access Manager (OAM) components using SIMPLE-mode certificates for communication will not function, thus causing an outage in the OAM environment, unless preventive actions are taken. Best Practice

The Oracle Access Manager Team recommends being at the latest product version release, patch-set, and Bundle Patch that is available for the specific component being used. This helps ensure that the latest fixes/product functionality and helps avoid unnecessary rediscovery of known issues.
