Images Under Doc_root With A Symbolic Link Not Working (Doc ID 2955822.1)

Goal

We are seeing the following error while running ORDS standalone and accessing images referenced with a symbolic link:

ie: http(s)://hostname:port/CustomImageFolder/CustomImage.jpg

HTTP ERROR 500 java.lang.IllegalStateException: Rejected alias reference: /CustomImageFolder/CustomImage.jpg

When the images and html files are under doc_root they display fine, but if the image is in another folder with a symbolic link under doc_root it gives the above error. Is it possible to reference images in ORDS 22.4 with a symbolic link?
